Early life

Parineeti Chopra was born on 2nd October 1988 to Reena Chopra and Pawan Chopra in Ambala, Haryana. She is the cousin sister of Priyanka Chopra, a well-acclaimed actress. A well-educated actress she is in the industry.  Her schooling was at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Haryana. She pursued her higher education abroad. Chopra studied her bachelors in England.  She studied Business, finance, and economics at Manchester business school, graduating with triple honors. In an interview, she said she was a brilliant student and aspired to become an investment banker.  She also pursued B.A. in music which shows her love for music. She is also a professional Hindustani singer. With Priyanka Chopra, she used to perform on stage.

Parineeti Chopra career

She came back to India due to the economic crisis in 2009. She got back to work as a public relations consultant for Yash Raj film productions. Later she was offered a contract as an actor. She made her debut in a box office hit “Ladies versus Ricky Bahl”. She got the best debut Filmfare award for this movie. In 2012 she played the role of Zoya in the movie “Ishaqzade” which was again a box office hit. Her character Zoya was very much appreciated and she was nominated for a national film award for special mention.  In 2013 she starred in “Shuddh desi romance” and in 2014 she starred in the film “Hasee Toh Phasee”. 

In 2014, she was featured in the film “Daawat-e-Ishq, “ a dowry-themed social comedy. She played the role of a saleswoman based in Hyderabad. In 2014 she also acted in the film “Kill Dil, “ a crime drama. Neither “Daawat-e-ishq” nor “Kill dil” did well at the box office and disappointed Parineeti Chopra. She then decided to take a break from her career. During this time, she made a brief comic appearance as a doctor in Man’s world youtube series. She also appeared in Dishoom as Muskaan Raza Qureshi wherein she was featured in the song “Janeman Aah ”.

Parineeti Chopra comeback

She came back into movies in 2017 with Yash Raj’s film “Meri pyaari bindu”. With Ajay Devgan, she appeared in “Golmaal Again”. This was the fourth series of Golmaal. This movie was a very big hit and the biggest blockbuster in the carrier of Parineeti.

In 2018, she starred in “Namaste England” opposite Arjun Kapoor. This failed miserably at the box office. In 2019 she appeared in a supporting role in the movie “Kesari”. This movie was financially profitable for the moviemakers. Next, she was seen in “Jabariya Jodi” opposite Sidharth Malhotra which was a box office disaster. She then appeared in the novel remake “The Girl on the Train”. The character of Chopra was well-received by critics. Opposite Arjun Kapoor, she then appeared in “Sandeep aur pinky faraar”. Her work was appreciated by experts. Her most recent movie was Saina. It is the biography of the badminton player Saina Nehwal. Her work was again appreciated by critics.

Television debut

In 2014, she made her television debut by appearing as a mentor in Zee TV’s India’s best cine star ki Khoj. In 2015 she appeared in the star plus documentary “Girl Rising-Woh padhegi woh udegi”. She appeared as a co-judge in a tv reality show Hunarbaaz: Desh ki Shaan on colors tv along with Mithun Chakraborty and Karan Johar.

Playback singer

She started her career in playback singing in 2017 with the single mane ki hum yaar nahin. Her singing was much appreciated. In 2019, she sang for the movie kesari as a female version of the song teri mitti.

Social work

Chopra in addition to performing in movies does a lot of social work. She supported Shabana Azmis Mizjwan welfare society, a nonprofit organization that works towards uplifting girls. She also supported the NDTVS greenathon which intended to uplift the environment and also looks into providing electricity to rural areas. Chopra was also declared the brand ambassador of the “beti bachao beti padhao” initiative by the Haryana government which intended to save the rights of girls in 2015. Parineeti Chopra proved to be an actress with a big heart by involving in these social service activities.

Brand endorsements

Chopra works with different brands as a brand ambassador. Some of the brands Chopra has either worked on in the past and is supporting currently are WeChat, Pantene, Mahindra Scotty, Kurkure, .Nivea, Maaza, and Spinz. Chopra is the first Bollywood celebrity to endorse PepsiCo’s Kurkure and Coke’s Maaza together. Parineeti Chopra endorses Adex India as a brand ambassador.

Chopra became an ambassador of Tourism Australia and joined the “Friends of Australia” team in 2017. After appointing Chopra as ambassador, the number of tourists from India visiting Australia increased to 21 percent from 15 percent as per the India entertainment marketing report 2019.

Parineeti Chopra Personal Life.

Parineet Chopra and AAP leader Raghav Chadha knew each from when they studied in the London School of Economics. However, their love story began when Raghav went to meet her on the sets of Chamkila in 2022. In due course of time, they fell in love with each other. On May 13th they got engaged in New Delhi in the presence of family and friends.
